Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Macmahon understands that contracting is first and foremost about people.

Maintaining one of Australia’s largest and most modern fleets of equipment requires a skilled and capable workforce.

As a major employer of apprentices, Macmahon is committed to providing outstanding employment opportunities through the company's training schemes, with Macmahon's apprentices winning numerous government Excellence Awards at both a state and federal level. Macmahon strives to offer long term, rewarding careers to our apprentices, as demonstrated by the numerous company trade qualified employees who started their careers at Macmahon as apprentices.

The majority of apprenticeships are offered in the Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic trade on a yearly basis. Additionally, a smaller number of Fabrication (Boilermaker) apprenticeships are also offered each year. Electrical (Auto) apprenticeships are offered every second year.

Traineeships are offered throughout the year according to project demands. Macmahon also welcomes interest in our vacation and pre-employment programs.

Macmahon is committed to encouraging local recruitment and training and has a focused program for Indigenous trainees which include an Indigenous mentor. Click here to read about our Indigenous employment and training program.
