Macmahon has the unique ability to back up
frontline contracting services with its plant maintenance
capability.
The company owns an extensive fleet of plant, valued at more than $360 million. Click here to view details of Macmahon's fleet and equipment.
Macmahon's main workshop, known as the WAC, is located adjacent to the Perth international airports. Macmahon has another base workshop in the town of Nebo near Mackay in Queensland. Together, these facilities resource the Macmahon domestic and international operations.
Macmahon offers complete on-site maintenance and plant management support service for the Macmahon fleet, and can also tailor packages to suit client needs.
Maintaining its own plant to the extent that Macmahon does makes the company rare in the contracting industry - and provides a distinct competitive advantage. It ensures the highest standard is achieved for all equipment that passes through the workshop and these services can also be extended to all of Macmahon clients.
Macmahon's extensive WAC facilities feature a warehouse, dispatch and receival centre, component rebuild workshop, light vehicle maintenance section, major plant refurbishment workshop, fabrication section, sandblast and paint shop, high pressure cleaning wash bay and certified quarantine wash pad.
While the facilities ensure the Macmahon fleet is operating at its peak, the facilities and skills of the Company's personnel are also able to service the needs of clients.
About 60 trade personnel work at the facility, which also serves as the base for the Macmahon apprentices who are rotated through the WAC from project sites, enabling them to get experience on all aspects of plant maintenance. A further 30 personnel are based in the Nebo workshop.
Macmahon has an award-winning apprentice training programme in place with up to 40 apprentices in the base workshops receiving guidance from the company's senior tradespeople.
