As the Asset Manager working in the Plant Department, Anna plays a key role in the estimating team when tendering for new projects as well as managing plant costs and critical financial forecasting for the company’s extensive and growing international plant fleet.
Commencing her working life as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer with Boral, Anna has had a rewarding career including working and living in Ghana, West Africa. “I embraced the expat life for 12 months and enjoyed the adventure of living in a totally different culture where the people are extremely polite, kind and hospitable.”
Over her nearly 20 year tenure with Macmahon, Anna has witnessed an ever changing landscape of growth and decline in the mining industry. She enjoys the challenges that are presented to her and the camaraderie she experiences with different teams that she works with. Over the many years with Macmahon, amazingly, Anna has not taken a single day’s sick leave, even when she was pregnant with her two children!
Anna is currently involved in an exciting technology transformation project that will lead to more reliable and accurate plant modeling data as well as an enhanced efficiency in producing estimates and budgets.
Outside of her career, Anna is a proud mother of her 11 and 13 year old sons with one looking to go down an engineering path and the other with an interest in zoology. Anna is heavily involved in supporting her boys and their interests in soccer during the winter months and athletics in the summer, making time to be club manager and taking on a key official role.
A little known fact about Anna is that she met her husband in Dalwallinu, a small town in the wheat belt region of WA, where she used to hang glide for fun. She rated in the top 10 female pilots in Australia at the time which is no mean feat!
