Danni originally joined Macmahon in 2013 as a Plant Administrator and quickly progressed into a Store Supervisor role a little over 12 months later. Through Macmahon’s training program, Danni has undertaken extensive training including a Cert IV in warehousing operations, a high risk license – forklift, EWP and WAH. She has also completed a certificate in Macmahon’s Leadership Foundation Program.
“Macmahon has provided me with an opportunity to grow and develop,” said Danni. “I was particularly fortunate to be given an opportunity to work in a Technical Advisor role as an expatriate at our copper/gold project, Batu Hijau, in Indonesia in 2019 which to date, is the highlight of my career.”
Over the years with Macmahon, Danni has enjoyed the support and guidance of a number of mentors and believes their help has contributed to her success and progression to Store Supervisor. “I tend to focus on key areas which I want to learn more about so that I have a better understanding how my actions and behaviour impacts the business,” said Danni. “This stems from people management to planning, scheduling, inventory management and suppliers. I understand that building strong relationships with key stakeholders is essential to the effectiveness of my role.”
This isn’t Danni’s first experience in the industry having previously worked at the Cape Preston mine for Citic Pacific. In comparing work environments Danni cites the great team she works with at Macmahon’s Tropicana Gold Mine. “We work, we get the job done and we have a lot of fun while we do it.”
Bitten by the travel bug at a young age, Danni left school and worked in the travel industry exploring the different cultures and local cuisines of Asia and Europe. She now shares her love of travel and new found passion for golf with her husband.
Thanks to my career at Macmahon, I have more confidence in my abilities and know that I can achieve anything I set my mind to,” said Danni.
