Macmahon refers to its ASX announcement dated 23 August 2024 and provides an update and clarification on certain facts with respect to the incident at the Byerwen mine on 22 August 2024.
Based on current information, Macmahon understands the loaded dump truck was ascending the ramp leading out of the pit at low speed when the light vehicle approached from behind and ran into the rear of the dump truck.
Macmahon continues to fully cooperate with all relevant authorities and their investigations to understand what had occurred in more detail. Once more information is available, relevant stakeholders will be updated.
Macmahon is providing necessary assistance and support to all personnel involved, including the dump truck operator.
Macmahon’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Finnegan, said:
