What qualifications do I need to be a jumbo operator?

To work as a jumbo operator, you’ll need proven experience in underground drilling, competency tickets, and a strong focus on safety. If you’ve had previous exposure to large-scale underground development projects, that’s highly valued.

What experience is required to work as a shotfirer?

Macmahon employs experienced shotfirers with the necessary blasting tickets and a strong record of safe results. Along with a can-do attitude, you should bring practical knowledge of underground drill and blast methods, a commitment to following safety procedures, and the teamwork skills to coordinate with your crew.

Does Macmahon recruit electricians for underground roles?

Yes. Underground electricians are an essential part of our workforce, helping keep equipment and systems operating safely. You’ll need the appropriate electrical trade qualifications and proven experience in underground environments. In return, you’ll be part of a great crew, with access to competitive pay and FIFO support for trade-based roles.

What qualifications do I need to be an HD fitter?

To work as an HD fitter at Macmahon, you’ll need a recognised trade qualification in heavy duty or heavy diesel fitting, along with proven experience maintaining and repairing large mobile equipment. A strong commitment to safety and teamwork is also essential to keep operations running smoothly.
