Hamish Tyrwhitt

Independent, Non-Executive Chair

Hamish joined the Board as an Independent, Non-Executive Director in October 2019.

Hamish has three decades of senior leadership experience in the global engineering and construction sectors. He was the Group CEO of Dubai Financial Market (DFM)-listed construction firm Arabtec Holdings from 2016 to 2019. In addition to his position as CEO of Arabtec Holding, he also held the position of Group CEO of Nasdaq Dubai-listed, interior solutions firm Depa Group, from 2016 to 2019.

Hamish has served on the board as an Executive Director of Depa Limited; as a Non-Executive Director of Design Studio Group Limited, a Singapore based subsidiary of Depa Group listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange; and as a Non-Executive Director of Jordan Wood Industries PSC, a listed Jordanian company which manufactures office and household furniture.

Previous to his roles at Depa Group and Arabtec Holdings, he held the position of CEO at Asia Resource Minerals Plc, an Indonesian coal mining company listed in London.

Previous to this, Hamish worked for more than 25 years with Leighton Group, now CIMIC, where he served as Group CEO from 2011 to 2014. From 2007 to 2011, he oversaw Leighton’s Asian operations as the Managing Director for Leighton Asia, from the Leighton’s Asian headquarters in Hong Kong.

Hamish is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, a fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers and a member of the College of Civil Engineers, Australia.

Hamish is a member of the Audit & Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee, Nomination Committee and Tender Review Committee.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Mick was appointed CEO in 2016 and Managing Director in October 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Mining) and has over 25 years of experience in the mining industry. The last 20 years have primarily been spent in senior line management positions. Mick has a strong commercial and technical background and has spent time in operations on the east and west coasts of Australia, as well as in a number of countries throughout Asia.

Maree Arnason

Independent, Non-Executive Director

Maree has over 35 years’ experience across the natural resources, energy and manufacturing sectors and has worked across commodities including copper, gold, iron ore, timber, coal, mineral sands, nickel and natural gas and gained expertise in strategy, sustainability, risk, corporate affairs, stakeholder relations, transformations, divestments and integrations.

Maree is a NED of ASX-listed Gold Road Resources (ASX: GOR), Ardea Resources (ASX: ARL) and VHM Limited (ASX: VHM) and a Co-founder and Director of Energy Access Services, which operates an independent Western Australian-focused digital trading platform for wholesale gas buyers and sellers.

With a significant record of serving on Not-for-Profit Boards, Maree is a Board member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and is a WA Division Councillor. She recently retired as Chair of Juniper, one of Western Australia’s largest aged care community benefit organisations and finished her term on the Australian Securities and Investment Commission’s Corporate Governance Consultative Panel.

Maree holds a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).

Dharma Chandran - Non-Executive Director, Macmahon

Dharma is an experienced executive and non-executive director with a background in professional services and human resource management within the financial services and, resources and industrial sectors, in Australia and Asia.

He has significant experience in the contract mining and civil construction sectors, as the former Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer for mining and civil contractor Leighton Holdings, and further experience in human resource management through his previous role as Chief People Officer of the ABC and current role as Chief People Officer of Toll Group.

Dharma has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Marketing, a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Master of Commerce Degree majoring in Organisation and Management, all from University of New South Wales, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Greg Evans

Independent, Non-Executive Director

Greg has over 25 years’ experience in financial services and capital markets, including over 10 years as Partner and Principal Director of KPMG Australia’s Mergers and Acquisitions team.  He has advised boards and management teams, providers of debt and equity and other financial sponsors on capital raisings, mergers and acquisition transactions, equity and debt structuring, public offers, and strategic growth options.

 

Greg specialises in energy and natural resources with a particular focus on the mining sector and is currently Chair of Yandal Resources Limited (ASX: YRL).

David Gibbs - Non-Executive Director, Macmahon

David Gibbs

Non-Independent, Non-Executive Director

David joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2023.

He is a mining engineer with 40 years of international experience in large-scale mining operations with copper and gold, diamonds, uranium, coal (thermal and coke), talc and nickel laterite resources. His experience includes both underground and open pit mining across South Africa, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia. He has held positions in the areas of feasibility study management, mine planning, operations, productivity improvement and cost reduction, research and due diligence, strategic planning, and project evaluation and development.

David is a Director of PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk, a gold and copper producer listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

He holds a BSc Hons degree in mining engineering, Mine Manager Certificate  First Class for Western Australia and a Mine Manager Certificate from South Africa.  He is a Fellow of The Royal School of Mines (ARSM) and a Chartered Engineer (C Eng).

 

Grahame White - Non-Executive Director, Macmahon

Grahame joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in January 2024.

He is an experienced Executive and Non-Executive Director with a background in the construction, energy and resources sectors in Australia and Asia.

He brings a wealth of experience in engineering, mining and resources, infrastructure and civil contracting, strategy, project technical and commercial analysis, and project development and operations management. During his career, he has spearheaded business development across Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, China, and Malaysia in the infrastructure and civil contracting sector.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Metals X Limited.

Grahame is a qualified mechanical engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of NSW, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He has a strong commercial and technical background and has spent time in operations on the east and west coast of Australia as well as a number of countries throughout Asia.

Ursula is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Accounting, Auditing and Tax. She joined Macmahon in 2018 as Group Financial Controller and was appointed Chief Financial Officer on 1 November 2021.

Prior to Macmahon, Ursula has more than 20 years’ experience with KPMG South Africa and KPMG Australia providing services to a large number of global listed companies in the mining and mining services sectors.

Chief Corporate Development Officer

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business and joined Macmahon in August 2020 as Chief Financial Officer. In November 2021, he moved into a strategic consulting role and was appointed Chief Corporate Development Officer in November 2023.

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in the contracting and services sectors covering mining, oil and gas, infrastructure and telecommunications. During this time, he has worked and lived in Australia, Asia and the Middle East, working with large international contracting and services companies, including CIMIC Group.

Nicola holds a Bachelor of Human Resource Management (honours). She has more than 20 years of experience in people management with global resources companies, including PTTEP, Beach Energy and Schlumberger. She specialises in building and leading HR functions in diverse climates and cultures with expertise in business and strategic planning, change management, talent management and development, and employee relations.

Jason is a Senior Executive with over 35 years of experience in the mining sector. He joined Macmahon in June 2023 as General Manager East Coast and Civil Operations and was appointed Managing Director of Surface Mining Australia in October 2024.

Jason transforms mining operations in challenging market conditions, connects strategic vision with execution and inspires high-performing teams to deliver technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Before Macmahon, Jason held senior management positions with BHP, Vale Coal and Yancoal.

Maha Chaar

General Counsel and Company Secretary

Maha is a senior executive and qualified lawyer with extensive national and international experience across legal, commercial, governance, and risk in various sectors including resources, infrastructure, mining and commodities, engineering, oil and gas, and construction.

Maha has significant experience advising on large-scale project developments and disputes.  She is also skilled in managing and documenting complex transactions and commercial contracts.

Maha holds a Master of Laws, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), and a Bachelor of Science. She joined Macmahon in 2021 and was appointed General Counsel in January 2022 and Company Secretary in January 2024. She has authored several published, peer reviewed academic papers and articles.
