Macmahon was awarded a five-year $650M combined surface and underground contract at Red 5’s King of the Hills (KOTH) Project.
KOTH is Macmahon’s 2nd combined underground and surface mining services contract.
The KOTH project is a major open pit and underground gold deposit located in the eastern goldfields region of Western Australia, with a projected mine life of over 16 years.
Macmahon’s scope of works on the surface includes load and haul, drill and blast, crusher feed and rehandling underground material to the ROM. The underground scope of works includes lateral and vertical development, installation of mine services, long-hole drilling and blasting and remote loading and haulage.
My job is to ensure our staff are trained, developed and encouraged to challenge their own boundaries. The operators need to be treated with respect, receive ongoing training and be well informed of what we are doing on-site and within the business as a whole.
