Now working as a Shift Supervisor and Acting Production Superintendent at the Boston Shaker underground project, Nadine has progressed steadily through Macmahon’s underground operations – supported every step of the way.
“Macmahon has given me opportunities to grow and take on new challenges. Starting as an operator, the company supported me to grow to where I am today.”
Her shift begins with pre-start meetings, catching up with crews and shift supervisors to work through the shift plan, safety priorities and any challenges that might arise underground. Alignment before the crew heads down the hole is non-negotiable.
“There’s a strong team culture underground and everyone plays a big part in delivering the shift safely. You build strong relationships on site, and everyone is working towards the same goal.”
What Nadine values most about the role is being close to the operation – watching the work happen in real time, seeing the progress of the mine, and being part of what the team achieves each shift.
She’s proud to be part of a process where every shift counts.
“For me, I’m happy seeing the team finish the shift safely and knowing we’ve achieved what we set out to do. Being part of that process every day is something I’m really proud of.”
Nadine’s story reflects the calibre of leaders Macmahon develops underground – people who set the standard for safety, work alongside their crews, and lead from where the work is happening.
