One of the biggest perks for me is the bus transport service. It takes me to and from my hometown of Townsville to the Byerwen Mine, which is a huge relief. It takes the stress out of driving after my shift and makes me feel much safer.
I also love the 7 days on, 7 days off roster. It gives me the work-life balance I need. But it’s not just the job that keeps me going—it’s the mateship with my crew. They’re like a second family to me, and working with them makes every day on-site a positive experience.
Safety is my top priority, and I really appreciate the safety culture at Macmahon. If something doesn’t feel right, I have no problem raising my concerns and feel supported by my supervisors to do so. I’d rather stop and ask questions than take unnecessary risks.
I enjoy the BBQ facilities at the camp, which adds to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
If you’re considering joining the Macmahon team, I say go for it! The opportunities, the camaraderie, and the work-life balance make it an amazing place to be.
