Marc Borg
HD Fitter, Telfer

When Marc Borg pulls on the Omega, he wears it with pride. Almost five years into his career at Macmahon, and now working as an HD Fitter at the Telfer Gold Mine, that pride is the kind that comes from years of doing the work well.

Marc started his Macmahon journey as an LV Fitter and was given the opportunity to upskill to HD. It’s a path he’s built one shift at a time, and the rewards along the way have made it worthwhile.

“There are a lot of challenges, and at the same time it’s very rewarding – especially when you’re on break with the family.”

He describes Macmahon as a growth-oriented company where every person has an equal opportunity to succeed in whatever they want to do. The culture on site is something he rates highly – friendly, multicultural, and a place where you learn something new every day.

For Marc, the definition of winning at work is clear.

“Winning at Macmahon, for me, is when we get all the machines out the door, back to work, without any injuries.”

It’s a definition rooted in the trade – fixing the machines that keep the mine moving, doing it safely, and being able to look his family in the eye when he tells them about the work he does.

“Winning, for me, is getting the machines fixed, back on the job safely, and taking pride in wearing the Omega.”

His message to anyone considering Macmahon is simple: this is where his passion is, and the career opportunities are waiting.

“There are good people out here, and a great career opportunity just waiting for you.”

Marc’s story is the Macmahon trade story – start where you are, take the chance to upskill, and build a career that lasts.
