As a foundation partner of the Club’s women’s program, Macmahon has proudly supported the remarkable transformation of women’s football in Western Australia.
What was once an underfunded competition with limited pathways has evolved into a structured, high-performance program aligned with the AFLW talent pathway, creating greater opportunities for female athletes to develop and progress to the elite level.
The 2026 season marked another significant milestone. In just its second year of competition, Perth’s WAFLW team recorded seven wins – an outstanding achievement that reflects the dedication of the players and the commitment of the club leadership, coaches and support staff in building a competitive and sustainable program.
The season also represented an important step forward for women in football across Western Australia, with WAFLW players moving from an unpaid competition to an official remuneration model for the first time. The introduction of semi-professional payments is the start of the journey acknowledging the value of female athletes, with further increases planned in FY27 as the competition continues to mature.
Macmahon is proud to work alongside the Perth Football Club to help create meaningful opportunities for women in sport. Together, the partnership is supporting stronger pathways, greater inclusion and lasting social impact for future generations of female athletes.
